How to Debate

1. Challenge your opponent

Use the "Challenge!" button on the Pundit's profile to send them a personal challenge

2. Write a debate prompt

Include a question such as, "Should the U.S. raise taxes?" and give more context to the discussion. Remember be clear and thoughtful in order to give your opponent a good reason to accept.

3. 24 hours

Your opponent now has 24 hours to accept or decline the challenge.

4. If your opponents accepts

You each have 48 hours to write your articles. If your opponent declines, you will be notified via email and message.

5. Get your Mic count up

Once you have both submitted your articles, the editors will edit them and publish them simultaneously in our debate format — now you need to promote it in order to get your Mic count up!

6. Keep your Mic count up

If you or your opponent fails to submit your article after the debate has been accepted, you or your opponent will lose 10 Mics. The other pundit should still submit the article for publishing as a standalone article.

Have fun and enjoy the debates! Please send us any feedback on the process at feedback@policymic.com.
